    Job Description

    The Role...

    Would you like to be involved in the assembly of a variety of switches & crossings for important use within the rail industry?

    We are looking for an individual with the passion and drive to grow and develop into a Machinist with us.

    The full list of responsibilities for this role are as follows:
    • Using engineering drawings/instructions to assembly a variety of switches and crossings
    • Using calibrated tools for measuring.
    • Slinging/Lifting and moving product by internal overhead cranes.
    • Familiar with drills/ band saws and small tools
    • Works to achieve the production plan to the correct quality and safety standards and to deadline
    • Complies with safety, health, environmental and quality policies and procedures
    Qualifications

    Essential:
    • Awareness of safety, health, environmental and quality regulations
    • Ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions & procedures
    • Team player
    • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines and targets
    • Attention to detail
    • Self-motivated
    • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern
    Desirable:
    • Aptitude for mechanics
    • Relevant rail/fabrication experience
    • Knowledge of railway operating environment
    • Ability to read and work to engineering drawings
    • Engineering qualification or experience
    • NPORS qualified in slinging
    • Full UK driving license due to location of site
