We have an exciting opportunity for a
Refugee Support Caseworker to join our asylum support and young refugee teams in Refugee Support South East.

In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating and delivering casework services for refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants across South East and will undertake a range of duties designed to develop, maintain, promote the service.

The support we provide depends on the needs of our service users, so no two days will be the same.

We are a team all connected by the common goal of helping others.

You'll work collaboratively with staff at all levels to ensure service users receive a high quality, person-centred and trauma-informed service and they receive the right support for them.

This will be an incredibly rewarding role and will help us to achieve our mission of supporting people in crisis.

How you'll make a difference:


Working as part of our team to deliver casework, advocacy, practical and emotional support to our service users; this role is at the heart of our team.

You will work with a full age range of asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants including age-disputed young people, to ensure that they are fully supported through their journey.


This role could be for you if
You have established organisational skills. You can plan, manage, and monitor your own and others workload.

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You can build relationships and adapt your communication style to suit the needs of a diverse group.

You are patient and professional.

You can communicate with people whose first language is not English to understand their rights and entitlements and advocate on their behalf.

You can provide sensitive, safe and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations.

You are about our cause - you understand the rights and entitlements of asylum seekers, migrants and refugees.

The South East Refugee Support team provide casework, advocacy, practical and emotional support to people affected by asylum and immigration issues across the following regions: Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East Sussex, West Sussex and Kent.

We work in partnership and collaboration with many organisations across the South East area in providing these services.

Our frontline services are provided by Caseworkers, Project Coordinators, Casework Coordinators and a team of volunteers.

Through effective signposting, referrals, advice and advocacy support we enable service users to access the support and services they need.

Many of the people we support are in complex situations who are often experiencing hardship, homelessness, social isolation, and facing challenges navigating complex welfare and legal systems

For people in crisis, as a result of their migration status, in need of protection, displaced and often having experienced family loss and separation our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links team will deliver on our unique position and responsibility as part a truly global humanitarian organisation, present at every stage on the migratory trail to:

  • Reduce destitution and exploitation
  • Restore family links and facilitate reunion
  • Challenge stigma and build inclusion
  • Ensure protection and empower people to make positive decisions to regain control of their live
