We require a Drone Project Team Leader to cover an existing workload within a major police force, based in Reading (Hybrid working).

This is an interim position for an initial 12 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.


Role Purpose:


  • The overall purpose of the role is to: lead the successful delivery of National Project to fly police drones beyond visual line of sight. To work with NPCC, NPAS, Private Industry, regulator, procurement at force, bilateral and regional level includingproject initiation, planning, resourcing, budget, project governance, implementation, communication, dependency management, risk management, issue management, and project benefits realisation.

Skills required to be successful in the role:

  • Good standard of vocational qualification or equivalent experience and evidence of CPD.
  • Recent and relevant experience in BVLOS and Drone Management Deployment with proven evidence of working in projects and delivering and embedding change.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to build effective relationships and negotiate with multiple stakeholders including the involvement of those impacted by change.
  • Proven planning and skills including experience of prioritising across multiple workstreams.
  • The ability to support senior stakeholders and sponsors to make decisions about priorities based on project outcomes and dependencies.
  • Proven ability to lead crossfunctional teams to achieve project deliverables.
  • Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force, undertake all assignments in a timely manner, and attend regional and national meetings as required.
  • PRINCE2 practitioner qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience of managing collaborated projects across multiple organisations and with external partners.
  • Experience of delivering change in a unionised environment, successful negotiation with staff associations and understanding of the police service and culture.

£18.76 per hour PAYE (Umbrella rate available)and you'll be working via
