**Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are currently working with a Primary School in Pemberton who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 child on a one-to-one basis who has behaviour needs.

This role is to start as soon as possible and is covering an on-going sickness cover initially until Fri 31st March with the possibility to continue until the end of the summer term (July This Teaching Assistant role is working Monday to Friday eachweek between 08:30am

  • 15:30pm and there will be a 30 minute lunch break. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is confident to work on a onetoone basis and who is supportive of the child's needs.


The school are looking for applicants who have previous experience working with children in a school or child care setting.

Previous employment or volunteering experience as a Teaching Assistant can be within the past 5 years and can include Nurseries, YouthCenters or working as a Support Worker with SEND Adults or Children.

The ideal person will be inclusive, passionate, engaging, empathetic and supportive whilst using their initiative on a daily basis. Good communication skills are a must whilst working alongside other support staff and supporting the class teacher.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working one to one with a KS1 child with Behaviour needs
  • Supporting the class teacher on a daily basis with what tasks they require you to undertake
  • Build a positive and supportive relationship with all children, colleagues and parents
  • Use your initiative and uphold strong behaviour management
  • Supporting groups of children and working on a onetoone basis
  • Adapting your support style to suit all individual needs

In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria:

  • Strong English and Maths Skills
  • Previous experience of volunteering or working with Children in the past 5 years
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
