Want a career in childcare? Sure Steps Derby Lane Nursery are currently recruiting for a Level 2 early years apprentice.

You will be supporting the team in arranging activities, engaging young children in play, reading stories, supporting mealtimes and ensuring safeguarding at all times.

As a level 2 Apprentice, you will be covering all aspects of the Level 2 Childcare qualification:
Communicating effectively with Children and Parents alike.
Health and Safety.
Safeguarding.
Toileting.
Feeding.
Planning activities.

Your shift pattern will be rotating shifts between 8.00am and 6.00pm ( 40 hours)
We offer a competitive salary after completion, attendance bonus, long service bonus and additional holiday after qualifying period. We also have a dedicated staff and kitchen area.

Training Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer.

Sure Steps Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
Functional skills in Maths and English if required
This will be delivered through Sure Steps Day Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise.

Realise is an established training provider that's enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.

Entry Requirements and Qualifications

No formal qualifications are required but must have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills.
Other Information

Onsite parking and excellent bus routes to setting.
A D.B.S will be required but setting will support in this.
