    Position Overview:

    Analytical Development is accountable for participating in the effective running of daily operations in its Analytical Development Laboratories.

    This role will report to Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist Grade. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with experience of Analytical Development in the cell therapy setting. He/she should also have core skills in molecular biology and a good understanding of the regulatory aspects of developing and evaluating molecular biology assays (qPCR and dPCR) as fit for purpose for transfer to a QC laboratory environment for PhI/II clinical manufacture.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Innovative Method Development: Collaborate within a dynamic team to pioneer analytical methods tailored for high-quality cell-based therapeutic products.
    • Molecular Biology Expertise: Serve as the focal point for molecular biology assays within the Analytical Development (AD) team, leveraging your proficiency in techniques such as qPCR and dPCR.
    • Leadership in Methodology: Take ownership of assigned objectives with autonomy, leading the development and evaluation of analytical methods crucial for testing cell-based therapies.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Manage multiple projects concurrently, fostering seamless collaboration across departments to ensure timely project delivery.
    • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of method development activities, authoring comprehensive reports to support regulatory requirements and method transfers.
    • Scientific Excellence: Stay abreast of industry advancements, contributing to method transfer initiatives and engaging with external service providers to enhance scientific rigor.
    • Team Management: Provide guidance and oversight to technicians, research associates, and junior scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.
    • Data Presentation and Advocacy: Lead discussions and defend data in team settings and lab meetings, showcasing the scientific rigor and potential of our analytical methodologies.
    • Safety Adherence: Uphold stringent health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with company protocols and fostering a culture of safety within the laboratory environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Molecular Biology Proficiency: Core expertise in molecular biology techniques, with a focus on qPCR and dPCR.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Assay Development Role
    • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries, with a track record of success in a laboratory setting.
    • Analytical Aptitude: Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate molecular biology assays tailored for cell-based therapies, adhering to regulatory standards.
    • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with a range of biopharmaceutical and cell-based techniques, including aseptic technique, flow cytometry, and cell culture.
    • Scientific Acumen: Strong understanding of cell biology and immunology, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
    • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a collaborative spirit and a focus on team outcomes.
    • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with ICH regulations as they pertain to assay development and evaluation, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
    • Organizational Excellence: Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established timelines.
