Job summary:


The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) role is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our most senior leaders within the organisation.

Working in a professional fast-paced environment you will manage a complex and demanding workload, adapting to changing priorities and offer effective solutions to help manage and make the best effective and efficient use of your Executives' time.


You will join a small supportive and friendly PA team who provide effective corporate governance and support to the Chief Executive and ELT and you will also be a valued member of the wider Secretariat team.

This would be an excellent opportunity to develop your own skills and knowledge within this sector, within a flexible role and business environment, with potential for further opportunities if successful within the organisation.

The team are flexible with where they work.

Our team tend to be in office every Tuesday and Thursday but predominantly work from home, dependent on business needs.

As a team we look ahead to establish the most efficent days for us to work in the office on a weekly basis, dependant on diaries and aim to be together as a team in the office as and when we can, usually at least 1-2 days each week where possible.


Job description:


  • Work with the Executive Leadership Team and PA/Secretariat team to provide effective support. It is likely that you will support two members in particular, but will be expected to provide support to other team members at times. To include diary and inbox management, drafting of correspondence and monitoring of actions.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to requests from Executive Leadership Team.
  • Management of sensitive information and issues.
  • Management and organisation of travel.
  • Minute taking as required.
  • Occasional organisation of events eg high level meetings, away days
  • Coordinate calendars and/or input for leadership meetings and events
  • Collaborate with the organisation's executive team in preparation for standing meetings.
  • Provide varied support within the teams in times of annual leave and sickness

Person specification:

  • Previous PA or Administration experience, this could be within work or study
  • Good communication skills, both written, electronically and verbally
  • Key team member, ability to work well within a team and support others
  • Ability to cope under pressure, and look for solutions to problems
  • The desire to develop a career in business administration

This is a Ministry of Defence non-reserved post and although open to UK, British Commonwealth and European Economic Area nationals, successful applicants will require a security clearance (SC) and therefore need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 12 consecutive months within the last 5 years.
