    About the Role

    2 x permanent full time roles and 1 x permanent part time role

    Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Service are looking to recruit to the role of DoLS Support Officer. We are looking for someone with an ability to work on their own as well as part of a team, with an eye for detail in a fast-paced role covering a range of tasks using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and in-house system.

    Under the supervision of the DoLS Support Co-ordinator, the DoLS Support Officer will support the delivery of a high performance; high quality service that ensures the department meets its legal procedural deadlines and responsibilities. To include supporting the work of the DoLS service and other multi-agency sub-groups such as the LIN, MCA Regional groups, including providing statistical and performance reports, arranging meetings and minute taking.

    The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, be highly organised, resilient and have a high level of experience in working with Microsoft Office applications.

    Please note there will be a Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word test after the interview

    About You

    To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have experience of working within a service area with tightly defined procedures with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Have experience of monitoring key legal administrative processes to ensure the department remains complaint, identifying and escalating legal issues and/or risks as they arise.
  • Have experience of working with confidential and sensitive information and adapting working practices appropriately.
  • Have the ability to utilise technical knowledge to offer support and advice to members of the public and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to gain and maintain relevant technical knowledge of the day to day operational DoLs legal procedures, to include a sound understanding of the associated legal duties of all involved professionals and the end to end process, with an ability to scrutinise and challenge where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate clear communication (verbal and written) and strong use of ICT (All Office applications).
  • Have an understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations.
  • We'd also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process.
