Description

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced policy professional who can produce new ideas, inspire others in the team, and catalyse policy change that will benefit people with lung disease.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs.

We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime.

We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

Reporting to the Senior Policy Officer within the External Affairs Directorate, you will lead on the development of compelling evidence-based policy work and advocate for policy change in public policy and NHS systems and practice.

You will be working on transforming care through innovation and campaigning.

This may include building on our huge successes in increasing access to life-changing drugs, driving early and accurate diagnosis or increasing access to biologic drugs for asthma.

You will be analytical, able to take initiative and have a proven track record of developing policy and influencing change.

You will have strong understanding of policy development and the political environment, as well as a good understanding of UK health policy.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation with a new ambitious strategy and plenty of scope to develop your own ideas and shape new campaigns.

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.

Interview process: 1st stage online 4 January nd stage in person 6 January 2023.
