    Job summary

    Are you an EMHP, CWP or registered professional? Are youpassionate about empowering children & young people? Due to expansion anexciting opportunity has arisen within the Herefordshire Wellbeing &Emotional Support Team (WEST). Working across several aligned primary &secondary schools you will be instrumental in increasing access to mentalhealth support for children & young people. Work base to be comfirmed at interview.

    We are a supportive team & you will be given a fullinduction with shadowing, alongside development & training opportunities.Registered professionals will be supported to develop Low-Intensity CBT skills.Other benefits include relocation package, Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme, travelexpenses (car driver essential).

    Working Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, your day may include:

  • Delivering Low-Intensity CBT interventions with children,young people & parents
  • Delivering workshops, staff training & assemblies.Providing advice to teaching staff
  • Regular case management, clinical skills, linemanagement supervision & CPD
  • Main duties of the job

    We are a busy team,covering 38 schools and expanding into higher education colleges in Herefordshire.You will be delivering low intensity CBT interventions (1:1 or group) in youraligned schools as well as delivering Whole School Approach activities, keepingthe CYP at the heart of everything you do.

    Under the support ofoperational lead, clinical lead & senior practitioners you will manage acaseload of patients and complete assessments, care plans & other relevantdocumentation whilst maintaining the fidelity of the low intensity CBT model.

    An understanding ofrisk management & safeguarding is imperative for this role, and you will besupported with managing this within the team.

    You will also receiveregular case management & clinical skills supervision to support youclinically as well as participate in MDT/screening meetings.

    You will work closelywith families, school staff & other professions and at times deliverconsultations & signposting advice to other agencies. Thus, stronginterpersonal skills are key.

    Job responsibilities

    You will work in partnership with Educational Settings &Partners to improve the outcomes for CYP 5-18 years of age.

    You will provide a high- quality service to CYP, familiesand school staff and will have regular communication with all.

    You will promote knowledge of mental health & theprevention of mental health with children and members of the public.

    You will be an active member of the team and support withservice development as well as engage in service meetings.

    You will act as a role model to colleagues and always seek tomaintain the highest standards.

    You will use your initiative and take responsibility for thequality of your work and the service you provide to patients.

    Skills & Abilities

    Essential

  • Ability to challenge poor behaviour
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
  • Basic IT competency
  • Able to drive with a full driving licence and have access to vehicle to meet the travel requirements
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1 year Education Mental Health Practitioner Course
  • Children Wellbeing Practitioner qualification
  • Qualified RMN/SW/OT
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
  • Desirable

  • Specific qualification in a relevant therapeutic speciality counselling, Family Therapy, CBT, substance misuse relevant post graduate study or be able to demonstrate further skills based training
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others
  • Post Registration experience in emotional and wellbeing assessment and care
  • Experience of working and liaising with wide variety of agencies and stakeholders
  • Use of therapeutic interventions within mental health settings 1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work. Providing consultation
  • Desirable

  • 12-month minimum post registration experience in child health or mental health care.
  • Working with children and young people.
  • Experience of working with children and families is an educational setting.
  • Working in a Multi disciplinary team.
  • Working within a community/public health team

  • Good knowledge of recognised disorders and illnesses in the field of mental health
