    Ocean Winds are looking for a Foundations Asset Integrity Engineer as a critical role reporting to the Senior Asset Integrity Manager. The role will support operational projects in Ocean Winds' UK portfolio, focusing initially on the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm.

    You will require strong experience in structural design and analysis, with either a civil, mechanical, or structural engineering background. It is expected that you will have experience of working in accordance with engineering design codes and standards, as well as working from first principles based on a strong theoretical understanding. Strong problem-solving skills are required, as is the ability to propose and develop innovative design solutions.

    It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have specific experience relevant to fixed and/or floating offshore structures, such as offshore wind turbine substructures and offshore oil & gas structures. Whilst specific offshore wind experience is not a requirement of this role, it will be a significant advantage.

    Core Main Accountabilities:

    • Support the Asset Integrity Lead in defining and implementing an Asset Integrity Management Strategy.
    • Liaise with and provide technical support to the site-based O&M team, including supporting warranty management.
    • Lead the monitoring activities associated with the integrity of foundations, including primary and secondary steel elements as well as ancillary components.
    • Undertake root cause analysis of defects and propose remedial actions.
    • Utilise data analysis tools to monitor and assess asset behaviour, performing detailed analysis of data from foundation structural monitoring systems.
    • Develop and review processes and procedures to support O&M activities, such as condition monitoring plans and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance procedures.
    • Working with procurement, engage specialist technical consultancy support where required, including preparing technical specifications and undertaking or coordinating technical assessment of proposals. Provide high quality reporting to internal and external stakeholders as required. Responsible for ensuring the windfarm meets its consenting obligations by delivering required information to the consenting and governing bodies.
    • Where required, lead on engagement with certifying bodies and other external stakeholders.
    • Ensure recommendations for improvement are fed into company knowledge management and lessons learned processes.

    Required Academic and Professional Experience:

    • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role with offshore foundations is required.
    • Experience the within offshore wind sector is desirable.
    • Experience in an asset integrity/operational engineering support role is desirable.
    • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or similar professional accreditation) is desirable.
    • Required Knowledge and Competencies:
    • Demonstrable knowledge in all of the following areas is required:
    • Offshore foundation/structural design.
    • Leading root cause investigations to understand, contain and potentially solve incidents.
    • Impact of operational conditions, including environmental/marine influences, on asset integrity.
    • The design and application of risk-based integrity management strategies and associated inspection and remote / condition monitoring methods / techniques.
    • Working with standards and certification associated with offshore structures.
    • Subsea inspection techniques and bathymetric survey.

    Knowledge of the following areas is desirable:

    • Technical risk analysis.
    • Typical forms of construction contract and associated warranty provisions.
    • Typical forms of service contract.
    • The CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations, including a demonstrable understanding of health, safety and environmental best practice.
    • Planning and consenting processes associated with onshore and offshore transmission assets.

    Languages:

    The project has an international team of employees and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. Proficiency in other languages will be valued.

    Location:

    Location in Edinburgh or Buckie, but travel to O&M facilities in the north-east of Scotland and offshore sites, as well as supplier's facilities and offices, may be required.

    Asset Integrity Engineer- Electrical
