We are on the lookout for a Trainee Setting-Out Engineer to join our client; a highly reputable and well renowned groundworks and civils company, on their residential housing site in Newton Abbot, Devon. The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks with particular knowledge in the civil engineering side of the sector.

As a Trainee Setting-Out Engineer, you will work alongside the existing Setting Out Engineer to pinpoint and mark structural features using site plans, softwares and surveying equipment, prior to construction works starting. Based from our clients' office in Newton Abbot, the successful individual will need to have access to their own vehicle to conduct their work at varying site locations, across the Southwest.

Desired Skills

Civil Engineering Experience: Minimum 3 years of setting out and surveying within civil engineering.

Blueprint Comprehension: Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

Software Proficiency: Ideally skilled with survey, and drawings software (2D and 3D) and proficient in producing volumes.

As-Built Drawings: Capable of producing precise as-built drawings.

Surveying Equipment: Proficiency with using a variety of different tools.

Earthworks Expertise: Experience in setting out profile boards and batter rails, preferably in Highway or Drainage projects.

Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of site QA paperwork.
