    About the Role

    Queens Park Group Surgery are looking for a medical coder/administrator to join our team on a full or part time basis (possible job share), to assist us in coding patient records and enabling us to signpost patients for the best possible care and opportunities. You will need to be solution focused with an understanding of workflow optimisation, ultimately, you will make decisions on which codes and functions should be assigned.

    The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Accountability for the coding and abstracting of patient information
  • Making sure that codes are sequenced according to NHS guidelines and regulations
  • Ensuring all medical records are filed and processed correctly
  • Analysing medical records and identify documentation deficiencies
  • Serving as a resource and subject matter expert to other coding staff
  • Reviewing and verifying documentation for diagnosis, procedures, and treatment results
  • Summarising medical records
  • About the Candidate

    The following skills and experience are required:

  • Proven work experience as a medical coder or similar role
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Experience of working with coding software
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
