Role Responsibilities

  • To support the Senior Analyst in providing research on a range of sustainabilityrelated companies and themes, primarily to support capital raising.
  • Writing analysis of manufacturing and commercial processes that are common to numerous companies in a particular industry. Gathering, presenting and explaining key drivers that affect the relative cost, pricing, commerciality, and margin of a particularcompany.
  • Evaluating novel claims about the economics of new businesses, and writing internal analyses of these claims in a timely and concise fashion
  • Preparing key issues to be understood from and questions to be asked of management teams, and evaluation of responses.
  • Devising, gathering and maintaining data sets that allow us to track key characteristics of the market, eg. solar PV manufacturing capacity, commercial storage requirement, etc.
  • Supporting the Senior Analyst in preparing sector thematic analysis on various topics.
  • Conceiving, writing and maintaining the investment case for a specific company. Ensuring that all relevant factors are considered, commercial, reputational, individual and financial. Ensuring that all elements of the case are internally consistent and matchrealworld data.
  • Monitoring newsflow and corporate updates as appropriate.
  • Other tasks to support the Senior Analyst as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Degree educated with a minimum 2:1 and/ or 2 years relevant sector experience. Strong preference for an undergraduate science or engineering degree.
  • An accountancy qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
  • A strong interest in sustainability and the commerciality of the business sector.
  • Strong commerical awareness broadly.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to distil complex problems into concise outputs.
  • Previous equity markets experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Advance Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
