    Job Purpose

    The Digital Design and Systems Manager (DDSM) role has two distinct functions, the first is to support the Mission Critical design group as a Digital design manager, the second function is to act across all design groups as the digital systems manager, being the focal point to design, implement, organise and maintain all technical procedures and technological innovation within BIM and Digital engineering.

    The DDSM will work for Mission Critical, providing digital design authoring and expertise to the team and across the company providing digital systems management. The candidate will require a high level of relevant competence and experience. A strong understanding of industry quality standards is essential (ISO19650).

    They will proactively lead by example in the use of process and new digital technologies. Be conversant with MEP workflows and how they integrate with ISO19650, as will a hands-on approach to problem solving, fluent communication skills and a 'can do' attitude. Managing and mentoring process and technology forms a significant part of this role.

    The DDSM will be the expert in their field and as such the DG's and companies 'go to' person. Provide key skills, coaching and experience with multiple BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM360/ACC, and Solibri. An eye for detail and a focus on quality must be at the forefront with a passion for technology and its efficient use within a working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Reviewing, appraising and commenting on bid/project scope (EIR's), its complexity, risk and requirements for successful delivery, this will include resource and technical advice.
    • Producing dependency and delivery schedules with project leads (MIDP. TIDP. MPDT, BEP etc.) and monitor/track accordingly.
    • Leading regular BIM/Digital design meetings and report on quality, progress, and risk.
    • Monitoring the quality of incoming models from professional team or outsource partners and providing reports and statistical analysis from clash detection, composition, and content.
    • Providing digital, technological, process and software expertise and guidance to the DG
    • Taking responsibility for the implementation and compliance to the project EIR and BEP.
    • Providing BIM authoring support and resource management (internal and external) ensuring successful project delivery (programme and financial)
    • Taking responsibility for the co-design and implementation for the company's BIM/digital quality systems, workflows, and procedures. Maintaining those systems and monitoring quality benchmarks.
    • Being responsible for digital quality control and compliance to company policy.
    • Taking responsibility for maintaining and evolving BIM and digital systems, e.g. Autodesk Revit, ACC.
    • Implementing and maintaining digital systems, process, and standards across the company.
    • Designing and implementing live dependency and delivery schedules using available technologies, working with Digital Design Managers.
    • Co-designing and implementing live data centric MIDP. TIDP. MPDT for use on projects.
    • Co-design and implementing live data streams from said systems to report on quality, progress and risk. Providing automated analytics and trend analysis.
    • Proactively seeking new technologies and systems, lead digital Research and Development
    • Proactively seeking to improve process and best practice.
    • Providing digital, technological, process and software support expertise and guidance.
    • Designing and delivering a training scheme for all BIM and digital systems, including Quality, Revit, BIM360/ACC.

    Skills and Experience

    • Delivering projects based on the Uniclass classification system
    • BIM management (project and people)
    • Digital project collaboration tools – BIM360, Autodesk construction cloud
    • Collaborative design environments (CDE)
    • Strong communication and presentation expertise.
    • Working knowledge of COBie and IFC import/export.
    • MEP/Mission critical background
    • Good all-round hands-on supervisory experience
    • Ability to manage single or multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Provide MEP co-ordination expertise.
    • ISO19650 digital quality standard
    • A native expert user of BIM/CAD tools – Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Navisworks, Solibri
    • A native user of PowerBi
