To support the Finance team, we are looking to recruit a Finance Coordinator to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in day to day financial administration of the organisation.

This will involve providing support with various tasks including sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and passenger data.


About the role:


As our Airport Finance Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, providing essential support across various tasks including sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and passenger data management.


Your principal accountabilities will include:

Corporate:


  • Supporting the Finance Team in achieving overall objectives.
  • Representing the airport with key stakeholders to maintain our outstanding reputation.
  • Upholding our Vision, Values & Behaviours in all aspects of your work.

Sales Ledger:


  • Efficiently preparing sales invoices and ensuring timely invoicing.
  • Collaborating with departments to facilitate billing processes.
  • Proactively managing debtor accounts and resolving queries promptly.

Purchase Ledger:


  • Processing supplier invoices and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Liaising with departments and suppliers to resolve account queries.
  • Conducting regular reviews of aged creditors and proactively resolving issues.

Bank/Cash:


  • Reconciling cash transactions and banking receipts accurately.
  • Managing car park reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensuring accuracy of bank statements and producing reconciliation reports.

Passenger/Airline Data:


  • Managing daily passenger information and resolving queries.
  • Producing passenger numbers and reviewing aviation charges.
  • Maintaining airline records and billing rules accurately.

General:


  • Ensuring compliance with VAT procedures and internal controls.
  • Assisting in the preparation for the annual audit.
  • Providing support for staff expense claims and company credit card statements.
  • Handling queries from stakeholders and maximizing finance software functionality.

What we ask from you:


Essential for the Role:


  • Worked in a similar role: Prior experience in a finance or accounting role, especially within the aviation industry, provides a strong foundation for success in this position.
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems: Familiarity with accounting software and systems is essential for effectively managing financial transactions and records.
  • Good working knowledge of transactional accounting, sales and purchase ledger: Understanding transactional accounting principles and experience with sales and purchase ledger processes are essential for carrying out daytoday financial activities accurately.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail ensures accuracy in financial records and reports, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial data.
  • Organisation skills: Strong organizational skills enable you to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information is essential for building trust and upholding ethical standards in financial management.

Desirable for the Role:


  • Experience in dealing with suppliers and customers: Previous experience in handling interactions with suppliers and customers can enhance your ability to manage financial relationships effectively.
  • AAT Qualification: Holding an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification demonstrates a strong understanding of accounting principles and can further validate your expertise.
