    Position: QA Engineer

    Candidates must reside in Scotland

    Ocho are delighted to partner with a client based in Edinburgh who hiring for an experienced QA Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global organisation and work closely with some of the best engineers in the country.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, write, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests.
    • Assist in designing and implementing a robust test automation framework.
    • Clarify functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Use bug tracking systems to manage defects.
    • Collaborate with testers and stakeholders for software release coverage.
    • Assist in analyzing story level requirements.
    • Mentor less experienced team members.
    • Perform functional and non-functional testing, including exploratory and regression testing.
    • Support and maintain software testing documents in the knowledge management system.
    • Aim to meet release dates and raise risks impacting delivery.
    • Ensure implementation of the Test Strategy.
    • Communicate and plan test objectives for releases.
    • Communicate available capacity to relevant parties regularly.
    • Actively participate in team meetings.

    Tools/Technologies:

    • Visual Studio, Git
    • Team City, Octopus, GitHub
    • JIRA
    • C#, .NET, TypeScript, HTML, Selenium (C#), Cypress

    Skills and Experience:

    • Proficient in Agile processes, including SCRUM, Continuous Build, etc.
    • Experience in testing web-based, desktop applications, and Cloud services.
    • Comprehensive understanding of QA processes and SDLC stages.
    • Aptitude for developing thorough test plans, scenarios, cases, and scripts.
    • Ability to investigate defects, isolate causes, and accurately record them.
    • Programming experience, especially C# and TypeScript, is beneficial.
    • Strong web and API test automation experience.
    • Experience with test automation frameworks and version control systems.
    • Familiarity with JIRA or Azure DevOps.

    Desired Qualifications/Skills:

    • 5+ years of relevant QA experience.
    • Undergraduate degree in science or related field.
    • Strong mathematical background.
    • Experience leading test plan development.
    • Knowledge of various QA methodologies.
    • Database testing skills.
    • ISTQB Foundation certificate or equivalent is advantageous.
