    This role will support the Director of Strategy & Corporate Development in setting and executing our corporate strategy priorities across Virgin Group and Virgin Red. The role will lead and support on a wide variety of strategy and commercial projects as well as playing a key part in formulating and evaluating the key strategic direction for the group and the loyalty business.

    You will provide support and coordination for a wide spectrum of strategy projects across the group, lead and/or support portfolio growth and optimisation projects and set strategic direction for corporate development efforts. For Virgin Red, you will work on the development and refinement of its strategic plans to ensure continued successful growth and profitability.

    • Supporting the Director of Strategy & Corporate development with:
    • Delivery against our global group strategies, plans and budgets including involvement in strategy and planning exercises for Virgin Group during annual planning/budget cycles.
    • Taking full ownership of various strategic and operational projects from initial scopingthrough to communicating findings and recommendations. Pushing projects forward to completion.
    • A number of Virgin-branded corporate development projects including working closely with the Virgin Red, Investment, Commercial and Brand teams.
    • Presenting to the Investment team and senior Virgin Group leadership team(s) on the progress of origination efforts and any specific investment/licensing opportunities.
    • Developing the long-term vision for the Virgin Red business,getting buy-in for the overarching strategy and various strategic projects from internal and external stakeholders. Working effectively in a matrixed organisational structure with a diverse range of stakeholders across the business to articulate the strategy and work together with the business to execute it.
    • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for organic and inorganic growth.Working collaboratively across functions to gather information, data and insights to support decision making.
    • Conducting market and competitive scans, positioning analysis and evaluations to ensure external dynamics are reflected and considered in decision-making for the business.
    • Supporting Business Development and Partnerteams in the definition and articulation of strategic value add of Virgin Red to partner businesses across the suite of partner offerings.
    • Supporting the Data & Innovation and Technology teams to assess in-house incubation and innovation initiatives
    • Preparing strategy documents for senior internal and external stakeholders including VR committees, Red Board and V team Board.

    What you'll need

    • Experience in strategy consulting and ideally a corporate development/strategy role with evidence of strategy, origination, analysis and execution of new business/investment opportunities. Time spent in an entrepreneurial environment also highly valued.
    • Strategy & planning skills: ability to use multiple internal and external inputs and stimuli in order to create a clear and coherent set of strategies and plans that can be executed against. Able to translate strategy into actions with ability identify interdependencies and mitigate risks.
    • Analytical skills: Creative and resourceful problem-solving skills. Structured analysis and financial modelling approach, and guides team through such analysis.
    • Execution skills: Evidence of executing complex corporate development, strategic and/or investment projects, with evidence of strong process management.
    • Commercial judgement and skills: Evidence of working on complex commercial negotiations, balancing brand/qualitative and financial/quantitative objectives to achieve an optimal outcome.
    • Self-starter, inquisitive and highly motivated, does not hesitate to "roll up their sleeves" to get job done.
    • Intellectually curious. Strives to understand the essence of a situation, an industry or a business problem and assess impact of pertinent industry trends
