Reed HR are working with a Higher Education Institute based in Central London to recruit a Head of HR on a full-time, Permanent basis.

Salary circa £65,000 - £70,000 per annum.

This job operates on the hybrid working model with some days worked in the officeand the rest from home each week.


The main purpose of this job will be to provide a HR Leadership service within both a Strategic and Operational capacity to the organisation.

You will lead a growing team of HR professionals on an array of HR topics including complex employee relations casework,Policy development, Change Management, HR Project work and Business as usual.

Some of the roles and responsibilities of this job are as follows:

  • Lead on the delivery of both the Strategic and Operational HR function, providing strong leadership to the HR function
  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness/absence, and redundancy
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes
  • Lead on the design of the staff training and development initiatives
  • Coach and support the HR Manager and wider HR team on any HR activities as required
  • Support Directors with any strategic initiatives and adhoc projects
  • Advise and Strategise on the development of effective employment policies


This is a professional and demanding Head of HR vacancy, that is very hands on and Strategic and Operational in nature.

To be successful, it is essential that you have experience working within a Higher Education Organisation previously, as well as managingComplex Employee relations casework.
