Brief job description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Support Apprentice with 2M Holdings, a chemical manufacturing company based in West Yorkshire.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of IT, this role requires the ideal candidate to provide day-to-day IT support to the business, including logging of calls and providing 1st line technical support. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and have excellent verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to use their own initiative and effective time management to achieve results.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Maintaining and upgrading the windows environment including virtual machine provisioning and administration.
Configuration, deployment and support of hardware and software including handheld devices.
Monitoring and deployment of Office365 and related server resources.
Monitoring and configuration of WAN/LAN and associated devices including telephony.
Developing knowledge base database.
Anti-virus, web and e-mail security administration.
Provide user support & user training.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

Strong technical and analytical skills.
Experience of problem analysis and resolution.
Experience of supporting IT customers in a commercial environment.
Windows server and desktop operating systems including virtual environments.
Office product suite including Office 365 administration and development (preferable).

Personal qualities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Good organisational skills.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
Maintain regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
Support the information systems needs for your business.
