The Role

The critical services we provide to our customers living across the Midlands rely on a fully operational and sufficient fleet, and with that in mind we're now seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Officer to take on this brand-new role.


Based from our In-house Maintenance Depot you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of Midland Heart's growing fleet, currently standing at 168 vehicles.

You'll ensure vehicles are operational, allocated to the appropriate teams (including Multi-trade Operatives, Rangers and Facilities Management) and meet the needs of the service area.


As a Fleet Operations Officer you'll work independently to:

  • Create and maintain an accurate fleet stock database
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained by arranging MOTs and Servicing in a timely manner
  • Investigate any incidents including managing insurance claims
  • Setting annual budgets and invoicing
  • Deliver Driver training and devise Driver handbooks.


Working closely with the Head of Safety & Facilities, you'll also support the Procurement of vehicles and ongoing Contract Management of suppliers ensuring the best value for money fleet provision is provided.


  • Experience of managing a fleet of vehicles
  • Experience of setting and managing budgets
  • IT skills with the ability to use specialist fleet service software
  • Brilliant stakeholder management skills with the ability to work under pressure whilst delivering a brilliant customer service.


This role is predominately based from our In-house Maintenance depot, Booth Street however regular travel to our Birmingham, Bath Row and East Midland Hub, Hinckley sites is required.

It is a requirement that the role holder has a full valid driving license.

We're looking for a flexible attitude to working evening and weekends, if required, to receive / handover vehicles.
