    JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical)

    DEPARTMENT: Production and Design

    REPORTS TO: Production Manager

    LOCATION: Maidenhead

    MAIN PURPOSE AND BUSINESS CONTEXT:

    The Production team primarily produce complex, low volume verification instruments and sorting machines for the diamond industry. They also aid in the development of new machines and support the service / repair of customer returned units.

    The main purpose of this Manufacturing Engineering role is to work with the assembly, test, toolroom and supply chain teams to resolve day to day and long-term issues which impact quality, delivery and cost.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide support and technical guidance to the assembly, testing and toolroom teams.

    Identify, prioritise, and resolve day to day and long-term issues.

    Raise problem reports and manage changes to conclusion.

    Provide a link between Production, PDE and Development for work associated with new and existing products.

    Support outsourcing initiatives and work transfer projects

    Represent the department in engineering design reviews and change control board (CCB)

    Ensuring products and process conform with relevant health and safety policies and company practices.

    Identify, evaluate, and provide justification for new tools and equipment.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

    A degree or equivalent in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or production engineering

    Lean / Six sigma Green Belt

    TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

    Min 5 years' experience in a similar role

    Experience of continuous improvement and problem solving

    In-depth knowledge of manufacturing production and processes

    Worked within a low volume / high complexity production environment.

    The ability to work with diverse teams.
