    Default job background
    Description
We are a London-based startup transforming how financial professionals access and use data.

We are building a system of intelligence empowered by AI-driven automation and analytics: a category-defining product that supercharges users to extract knowledge and put it to work.

Backed by top international venture funds and a stellar group of angel investors, we are a team of technologists and founders with experience in building AI products (@Advent International) and scaling unicorns (@Scalapay).

Together, we will build DESIA from the ground up and establish it as the global leader in financial intelligence.

We're committed to building a transparent company where vision and strategy are shared openly. We believe in clear performance reviews and a culture that encourages feedback from all levels.

    • Creativity and innovation. Diversity. We believe that embracing diverse thoughts and perspectives is what keeps us at the forefront of innovation.
DESIA operates on a remote-first basis, with the team working in GMT hours for synchronization.

Our founding team works from an office in London, and while working there isn't mandatory, everyone is invited to join.

As the first Product Designer at DESIA, you will lead the design of the DESIA platform, working closely with the Head of Product to develop AI and natural language processing interfaces for financial services using generative AI technology.

We value a harmonious blend of logical reasoning and intuitive design, recognising that true innovation emerges from this balance. For us, product design is made of business, market and user — this is where you'll span your thinking.

Ability to identify and comprehend user issues and needs, transforming them into clear, actionable problem statements to guide product and experience design decisions.

Occasionally, you will need to conduct both informal and formal user testing to validate hypotheses, evaluate prototypes, and uncover new insights.

    • Design great interfaces. Oversee all interface and interaction design facets, from preliminary concepts and wireframes to polished, high-fidelity interfaces. Inform all your design decisions with a good balance of user knowledge and intuition-sensing
    • Independently develop and refine high-fidelity prototypes using your preferred tools and facilitating both formal and informal user testing when needed. During our early stage, there might not always be enough time to make the perfect decision, so moving fast and leveraging your experience also helps us a lot.
    • Maintain a close relationship with the development team to ensure all design interactions are executed efficiently and compatible with technical capabilities. Ensure autonomy in facilitating the design handover process, creating comprehensive user journeys, addressing edge cases, and providing all necessary guidelines to prevent development delays.
    • Emphasise the importance of user feedback and integrate insights into the design process, ensuring a balance between design intuition and rational decision-making to address industry and user challenges.
    • Support the creation, refinement, and delivery of website, presentation pitches and white papers to help DESIA move as quickly as possible when pitching to new clients, raising market awareness and expanding to new business areas.
Experience in shipping a real product to users in collaboration with research and engineering teams.

    • Proficiency in creating and using comprehensive design systems (bonus point if you already shipped one yourself)
    • A product-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail, prioritising high-quality design solutions through an exploratory design approach
    • Proven track record of designing and launching complex products with diverse features, encompassing various aspects of product development (backend, frontend, and interaction design)
Highly explorative mind, curious to observe from different angles, playful approach to design

    • Previous product design experience in the financial services sector, especially SaaS or web-based applications
    • Exposure to or experience with LLM-powered product design
    • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to streamline the design validation and implementation process
    • Graphic design flair, because from time to time, we might need your help to define, create and ship brand assets (website, business cards, shirts, and presentations)
Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, although relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education

    • A minimum of 5 years experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a similar role
    • A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user experience design, including user research, personas, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and user testing
    Compensation and benefits

    • Competitive salary
    • Performance bonuses
    • Stock options and retirement plan
    • Medical and dental insurance
