Description

The clinical responsibilities are those associated with anaesthesia, including pre and post operative care, of patients within the hospital at a level appropriate to the ability and experience of the post holder as judged by members of the consultant staff.

This includes on-call duties providing anaesthetic care for patients on the emergency lists. Appropriate supervision will always be available. This may be direct, local, or distant supervision depending on the nature of the case concerned.

Elective work will usually involve a mixture of working with direct supervision and local supervision. Training provided will meet the requirements of the Curriculum as set be Royal College of Anaesthesia.
