- Play a critical role in the preparation of the financial statements, with the view of taking a greater level of responsibility for them as you progress.
- Business partner with a range of budget holders across the seniority spectrum, challenging spends against budgets and providing analysis and advice as required.
- Provide guidance and leadership to a small team of finance professional, giving them opportunities to develop and enhance performance.
- Produce the monthly management accounts in a timely fashion and lead on all things financial planning.
- Working with all areas within the organisation to develop their financial management & reporting capability.
This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant with ambition to take the next step in their career or help drive a business partnering culture through the trust. Due to the role being based with a Multi-Academy-Trust the Head of Finance post will require you to be in the office five days a week.
The successful Head of Finance will be:- A fully qualified accountancy professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc).
- Ideally, a background working in the education or charity sector, but this is by no means essential.
- Experience working in a finance role at a similar level.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to learn things quickly and be willing to get involved where necessary.
