    MRJ Exec is delighted to have been appointed on a retained search on behalf of a global SaaS company with headquarters in Manchester.

    In summary: Multi award winning for innovation; over 100,000 users worldwide utilising their products; equity backed (with a new round taking place later in 2024); recently acquired a SaaS company adding to their portfolio of products; 140 people and continuing to grow.

    ROLE: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

    Joining the main board, the Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for working with the CEO in setting the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the company's core products, whilst fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

    Responsibilities (in summary):

    • Lead the development and execution of the company's technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
    • Oversee the design, architecture, and development of multiple SaaS products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and security.
    • Manage and mentor a talented technology team (current team is 30 inc. software engineers, architects, support engineers), fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
    • Collaborate closely with the wider business to prioritise features and enhancements based on customer feedback and market trends.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the product roadmap and business strategy.
    • Drive initiatives to optimize processes, increase efficiency, and streamline development workflows.

    What will you offer:

    • Proven experience in a technology leadership role within a global SaaS or technology-driven company.
    • Experience dealing at exec level (please note, experience working with PE boards is preferable as is experience working in companies with a M&A buy and build strategy).
    • Strong technical background with a focus on modern software development methodologies, cloud technologies (AZURE preferred), and scalable architectures.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and executing technology strategies that drive product innovation and business growth.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships effectively.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation skills and interpersonal abilities.

    Package: Six figures + equity options available (in the new round)

    Location: the company operates a 4 days (office) and 1 day (wfh) policy and therefore, it is expected that you will be based in the North West, or happy to relocate to the region.
