Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship - River View Primary and Nursery School

Apprenticeship Summary:

Contract: 16 months Fixed Term Apprenticeship Contract


Qualification:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant


Working Pattern:
Monday - Friday, shifts to be discussed on interview

(Term Time only - 39 weeks per year)


Wage:
£6.40 (Paid Monthly)

Holiday: 28 days holiday (Bank Holidays not included)

Notice Period: 1 Month


Training Provider:
LMP Education (Rated 8th best apprentice provider in UK)

Requirements:
Applicants to have achieved English and/or Maths grade C/4 or above or functional skills Level 2.


Job Purpose:

Preparing the classroom for lessons and tidying it up afterwards
Assisting with lesson plans
Supporting children across the curriculum
Providing extra assistance to children with special needs
Recording and reporting a student's progress to the teacher
Marking work
Motivating and encouraging students
Supervising students during school trips or activities
Providing personal care for children who have soiled nappies
Attending meetings
Looking after children who are unwell or upset

Good communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to teachers and students
Active listening skills
Compassion and sensitivity towards children
Knowledge of the curriculum
Ability to use a computer
Can work well under pressure
Ability to adapt to whatever the situation requires
Maturity and professionalism
