British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting for a
Real Time Intelligence Supervisor on a full time, permanent contract. The role is paying £36,529.65 per annum and will be based in Manchester.
This role offers a blended approach of home and office-working.


BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year.

As a
Real Time Intelligence Supervisor you will be required to:

  • Supervise and manage a team of intelligence staff and their workload, ensuring fair and balanced allocation of tasks. Supervise and drive performance, attendance and welfare issues.
  • Set key performance indicators for the team and manage their performance in support of frontline realtime intelligence research.
  • Manage and develop links with internal and external agencies in order to support information sharing and collaborative working.
  • Quality assure research findings to ensure high standards and adherence to handling instructions, considering the threat, harm and risk to the Force prior to dissemination.
  • Ensure new intelligence discovered during RTI research is accurately recorded within Niche in the appropriate form and disseminated as necessary.

The successful
Real Time Intelligence Supervisor will be required to evidence the following:


Experience

  • Previous experience of supervision or management of a team.
  • Previous experience working within an intelligence environment and knowledge of law enforcement techniques and practices.

Skills

  • Ability to manage a team and drive performance through the use of key performance indicators.
  • Ability to manage rosters to ensure service provision.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations.
  • Able to proactively develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders. Able to negotiate with and influence other leaders.

Knowledge
-
Knowledge of relevant legislation including information handling and disclosure.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of national intelligence model and its principles.

Additional Information
A flexible approach to both working hours and different environments and locations is required. The post holder may be required to change hours at short notice and work occasional evenings and weekends.
