Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme where whilst undergoing training they will be paid 75% of the top of Band 3 (£20,615) and on completion of training will then move on to Band 3 scale.
University Hospital Monklands is looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to help lead pharmacy staff in our stores.

Pharmacy stores is a crucial operational area which provides a patient focused quality service to assure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical products.


JOB PURPOSE

  • To provide patient focused quality service to assure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical products.
  • To be the team leader for pharmacy staff working within goods receipt area.
  • The accurate and safe assembly of medicines to be dispensed.
  • To receive, check, package and despatch pharmaceutical goods.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

  • Scottish Vocational Qualification Level II
  • Two years experience as an assistant technical officer.
  • Experience in hospital practice
  • Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload and work under pressure.
  • Able to work under their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to CPD / Self motivation
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate customer awareness/focus.
  • Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department.
