    Description

    Job Title: Nurse for Children and Young People with Learning Disabilities

    Job Summary:

    We are looking for individuals to join Bradbury House, a nurse-led respite service supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviors. The role involves providing families a break from their caring duties while ensuring the children have a safe and quality time out. This is a 24/7 service that includes working on bank holidays, nights, and weekends.

    Main Duties of the Job:

    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing and clinical care plans in collaboration with Service Users/Young People, family, and the wider Multidisciplinary Team.
    • Administer medication following CWPT policy, understand the pharmacology of medicines, and transcribe medication onto administration sheets.
    • Lead the team on duty, delegate tasks confidently, and ensure high-quality care delivery.
    • Identify and manage health and safety issues, reporting to the Manager promptly.

    The post is multi-role, involving various duties like domestic cleaning, cooking, and gardening, with encouragement for Service Users/Children to participate where possible.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Provide holistic care for Service Users or Children/Young People with Learning Disabilities and complex health needs, including Autism.

    Be skilled in a wide range of clinical and behavioral interventions, enteral feeding, behavior management, and epilepsy management.

    Act as the lead Nurse for allocated Service Users/Children, building strong relationships with families and the wider Multidisciplinary Team.
