    We are looking for a Housing Officer to join our dedicated Supported Housing team. As Housing Officer you will play a crucial role working with local authority partners to ensure an efficient assessment and allocation process; overall tenancy management and monitoring of health and safety and building compliance requirements, including oversight of the businesses operating within each scheme.

    Outline of key responsibilities for the Housing Officer in Supported Housing...

    • Key responsibilities also include ensuring effective delivery of housing management services for supported housing properties, supporting tenants in maintaining their tenancies (including rent collection, arrears management, and tenancy sustainment), managing caseloads of tenants with accurate record-keeping and reporting, assisting with the allocation and lettings process for supported housing properties, promoting community engagement and social inclusion within supported housing schemes, and carrying out property inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
    • To ensure effective coordination of lettings, repairs, compliance, and planned investment requirements, it is necessary to provide a housing management service that is both efficient and customer-focused in supported housing schemes.
    • A key role must be played in achieving or exceeding performance targets related to voids and the letting of schemes. This will require close collaboration with the Lettings team, housing support teams (both internally and externally), Property services teams, and other key partners.
    • Furthermore, performance monitoring of other service providers appointed by or working in partnership with THA is essential.
    • Daily decisions must be made within established policies and procedures, contributing to decisions in areas where there is no precedent, while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Legislation in the safe usage of materials and equipment.
    • Procurement of services should be carried out in line with the company's financial regulations, and access details, including keys, must be appropriately stored, recorded, and used following procedures.
    • Access to computer information and confidential material must be securely managed in compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
    • For supported housing schemes, coordination of nominations and allocations with care and support providers and commissioners is required to manage allocations efficiently, ensuring they are appropriate for the needs of the schemes and in line with nominations/allocations policies, procedures, and performance targets.

    • Experience working in a housing management or support role, preferably within supported housing
    • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulations
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to show empathy and work with individuals with complex needs
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
