    Job overview

    We are thrilled to have an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual join the UHDB Pharmacy High-Cost Drugs and Outsourcing Team. Your role is essential as you will work to ensure patients receive hospital-level care from Outsourced Providers such as Homecare Companies and the Trust Wholly Owned Subsidiary.

    We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician with substantial knowledge and experience of Outsourced Services.

    The UHDB High-Cost Drugs and Outsourcing Team is a welcoming, friendly and inclusive team who are committed to improving the service provided to our patients.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Outsourced Services. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with Service Providers to ensure they are meeting consistently high standards through monitoring of service delivery. You will also work to identify areas for development of outsourced services.

    The successful candidate will need to have exceptional communication skills, to be conscientious, reliable, well organised and able to prioritise their own workload. The post offers opportunities for development and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who wants to grow and develop. There will be a requirement to participate in weekend and bank holiday working on a rotational basis.

    • NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
    • Evidence of CPD meeting revalidation requirements
    • Approved final accuracy checker (external qualification or internally verified)

    Knowledge and experience

    • Significant post qualification experience including operational and line-management experience
    • Demonstrates clinical reasoning and judgement and is able to manage difficult problems
    • Extensive knowledge of High-Cost Drugs and Outsourced Pharmacy Services
    • Involvement in service improvement projects

    Skills and ability

    • Effective IT skills in a range of applications
    • Evidence of ability to analyse and interpret complex data and ability to report on the information to stakeholders
    • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise when needed
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience of influencing, negotiating and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholder
