West Ferry Ward is a male High Dependency Unit situated in Medium Secure services.

Our mission is to provide safe, individualised care and treatment for detained in-patients who are in a disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder or have complex risk and other longer term needs.


We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative person to take up the post of Life Skills Recovery Worker Band 4 on West Ferry ward at the John Howard Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to actively form therapeutic, meaningful relationships with patients using a range of interventions/activities to enhance their care and improve their inpatient experience.

As a Life Skills Recovery Worker, you will assist in the provision of outstanding recovery focused care as part of the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team.

Coordinate and facilitate activities for patient

Promoting a safe environment of care that safeguards and protects patients and staff against undue risk.

Facilitating a positive role for patients where open communication and opportunities for learning and decision-making are promoted.


As a Life Skills recovery Worker, you will assist in the provision of outstanding recovery focused care as part of the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team.
