We are actively seeking an Autism Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the growth and development of our students.

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing the necessary support to help our students thrive academically and personally.


Position:
Autism Teaching Assistant

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (Term time only)


Salary:
£75 - £85 per day


Role Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with our experienced teaching team to provide tailored support for young people with autism.

Utilize your specialised knowledge to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and sensory integration strategies.

Create a structured and supportive classroom environment where students with autism can thrive.

Provide one-on-one and small group support during lessons and sensory activities.

Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to facilitate holistic development for students with autism.

Contribute to maintaining a sensory-friendly and organized classroom atmosphere.


Qualities and Experience:

While formal Autism Specialist qualifications or TA certificates are not mandatory, the following qualities and experience are highly valued for success in this role:

  • Previous experience working with young people with autism, ideally in a school or care setting. Or direct family members (children, siblings, etc).
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of individuals with autism.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the sensory and communication needs of students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to address the dynamic nature of autism and individual student requirements.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of autism education.
