Description

As a Mechanical Fitter with NG Competent Person and MEWP qualifications, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical components in National Grid substations.

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within National Grid substations.
• Operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) to access equipment at height.
• Ensure compliance with National Grid safety standards and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and method statements for mechanical activities.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety on site.

• Recognised Mechanical Fitting qualification or equivalent experience.
• Valid National Grid Competent Person authorisation.
• Certified MEWP operator with experience in various types of MEWPs.
• Familiarity with National Grid's operational and safety procedures.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of MEWPs and safety harnesses.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
