- Drafting and negotiating all manner of construction documentation including
- Construction contracts
- Professional appointments
- Development agreements
- Construction aspects of agreements for lease, guarantees, bonds and collateral warranties.
- Undertaking adjudication, arbitration, mediation and/or litigation.
- Liaison with clients and opposing solicitors, attending meetings, and negotiating with opposing parties.
- Assist as second to the Head of department and working collaboratively together.
- Mentoring and supervising junior solicitors.
- Business development to secure new clients and maintain existing client relationships.
- Qualified UK Solicitor with 6 – 8 + years contentious construction experience.
- Experience gained in a well renowned ranked UK Law firm.
- Good academics
- Experience with the Building Safety Fund and the Developer Remediation Contract is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong drafting skills, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent command of English– written and spoken
- Strong client relationship skills, with an appetite for developing new business.
- Energetic and driven.
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Able to work as an integral part of the construction team and collaborating with team members in other groups in the firm.
- Tenacious, with a positive can-do approach
- Previous supervision experience (of junior members of the team)

The HOD/Partner is looking for someone who would be a second in charge to support managing the construction department by mentoring junior fee earners and managing a complex caseload.
