    Are you an experienced Technical Business Analyst or a Systems Analyst?

    Are you looking for a new challenge and want to join a dynamic and growing company?

    Due to growth, we are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to be based in one of our Yorkshire offices. We are seeking individuals with a substantial background in Technical Business Analysis or Systems Analysis. A strong candidate will have full system lifecycle experience including some developer experience. Experience in UX/UI design would also be beneficial.

    In this role, you'll be responsible for collecting both business and technical requirements from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will play a critical role in crafting user stories, use cases, wireframes, diagrams, and other vital documentation essential for developing quality software products. Your duties will also include the creation of user manuals, help files, training materials, and occasionally detailed documentation of the software developed.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Gather, analyse, and define general, functional, non-functional and technical requirements with stakeholders.
    • Translate business needs into technical specifications and design solutions.
    • Facilitate clear communication between business and IT teams.
    • Produce and maintain detailed documentation of requirements, designs, and processes using UML.
    • Provide training and support for new systems and processes.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and recommend innovative solutions

    Location:

    The role will be based in either our Skipton BD23 3FD, Leeds LS1 2HL, or Saltaire BD18 3LF. JBA supports agile working which provides for greater flexibility with the way that we work.

    Key competencies required for the role:

    We seek candidates who thrive in an open, collaborative environment and possess strong communication skills, especially in liaising with technical teams. The capacity to rapidly grasp complex concepts is essential.

    The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in roles within a software development setting. They should be adept at creating documentation that caters to both business and technical audiences, demonstrating a comfortable proficiency in navigating between these domains.

    It is desirable to have experience in:

    • Running requirements workshops
    • Writing User Stories, Use Cases and Use Case descriptions
    • Wireframing
    • Modelling using UML including Class diagrams
    • Writing Software Requirements Specifications
    • API interface define/design
    • Database define/design
    • Waterfall and Agile methodologies
    • Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS, Azure)
    • Data analytics (Power BI)
    • Geographical Information Systems (GIS), especially geospatial data systems.
