    Data Privacy Manager

    Location: London, Hybrid

    Duration: 6-month initial contract with extensions

    Start Date: ASAP

    Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Privacy Manager to join our partners dynamic team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading privacy initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic guidance on data privacy matters.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard sensitive information.
    • Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on privacy-related issues, including data handling practices, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
    • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy considerations into business processes and technology solutions.
    • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to ensure our privacy program remains up-to-date and effective.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on data privacy matters, providing training and awareness programs to enhance privacy awareness across the organisation.
    • Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and third-party vendors on privacy-related matters.
    • Support incident response activities, including investigating and remediating privacy incidents in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and present reports to senior management, outlining key privacy risks, compliance status, and remediation efforts.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant GDPR & IAPP certifications (CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM) preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy and data protection, preferably within the financial services industry or IT consulting.
    • Demonstrated expertise in privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS).
    • Proven track record of managing, developing, and implementing privacy programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex privacy risks and develop practical solutions.
    • Strong understanding of relevant legal frameworks and their implications for data privacy management.
