    Job summary

    **Fixed Term contract covering Maternity leave**.

    To provide an efficient reception/administration support service to the multi-disciplinary team within the Oncology department, using iPM, Aria, VARIS (Radiotherapy system) and other Trust IT systems. This includes Oncology Outpatients and Chemotherapy Day Case.

    ***Please note that applications from temporary workers who have been engaged with the Trust for a minimum of 3 months are welcome.

    Available as a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. (With current line manager's agreement). ***

    Main duties of the job

    To receive patients attending the clinic and check details on iPM (the Hospital computerised Patient Information System) or VARIS (Radiotherapy Patient Information System).

    To log all times onto computer regarding throughput of patients through clinic.

    Process outcome of appointments on iPM book follow-up, add patient to waiting list, discharge etc. Print off waiting list letters and act as a first point of contact for booking appointments.

    Admitting/ discharging patients for Chemotherapy. Booking patients on ARIA system for further chemotherapy appointments.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in the use of computers , in particular Microsoft Office
  • Educated to GCSE A-C in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • ECDL
  • NVQ in Administration
  • Experience

  • Previous demonstrable administration experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrable reception experience
  • Desirable

  • Previous demonstrable experience in Oncology department
  • Proven knowledge of iPM
