    Our developments are beautifully designed offering stunning community living and set in highly desirable locations across the UK. Our exciting plans have enabled us to create a brand new opportunity for an experienced Special Projects Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract.

    About the role

    As Special Projects Manager you will be part of our development team overseeing and coordinating a number of projects of maximum value £500k to achieve company aims, satisfying multiple internal stakeholders and our customers via excellent communication, quality and delivery standards. You will be required to be the lead manager, liaising directly with all contractors, external consultants, suppliers and colleagues to see all projects through to completion and handover within set timescales and budgets ensuring at all times minimum disruption to our customers.

    You'll work closely with many stakeholders including the Operations, Sales & Marketing teams as well as direct face to face liaison with customers.

    Key duties will include

    • Assist with obtaining specialist reports, surveys and recommendations
    • Identify project timelines, key risks & budget requirements for approval
    • Coordinate tender process and/or appointment of contractors
    • Engage all stakeholders in relation to the project to ensure all parties are fully on board, dealing with any queries or questions
    • Undertake pre-start meetings with key stakeholders and provide regular reports on progress throughout the duration of the project
    • Planning and monitoring of the construction operation within the constraints of the budget, producing regular reports to the Development Director on programme, cost, quality, risks & health and safety
    • Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the site and construction process.
    • Ensure the highest health and safety standards are maintained on site at all times.
    • Ensure all documentation is produced and handed over in accordance with the company's standard handover requirements
    • It is expected that you will be making site visits 3-4 days per week, so the role will require extensive travelling across a wide geographical area.

    About you

    Essentially you'll come with extensive construction experience (ideally contractor background), who is capable of understanding building design, demonstrates strong management of contractors and is a self-starter in driving projects to completion.

    You will have a track record in managing contractors, suppliers and consultants and you'll have experience of project and budget management.

    This role does require direct liaison with our customers and as such you will need to empathise with our customers and 'put yourself in their shoes' so great communication skills are critical.

    Qualifications

    • Qualification in related field, such as construction management.
    • Construction Manager's CSCS card.
    • Ideally hold a SMSTS card (or equivalent)
    • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Sound knowledge of construction and M&S systems
    • Organisational, scheduling and planning skills
    • Strong Health and Safety knowledge
    • Ability to produce effective project timelines
    • Strong IT skills - we use Google Workspace
    • Multitasking of a number of projects running concurrently at any point in time.

    This is a 12 month fixed term contract role offering a basic salary of circa £65,000 per annum (pro-rata). This role requires frequent travel so you'll also be eligible for a car allowance & mileage expenses.
