    The difference you will make as a Data Manager:
    You will develop and implement a strategic approach to asset data management and investment planning and also be responsible for ownership of asset property data (managing, supervising, and maintaining it across a number of systems, including TRG's Asset Management System). You will ensure a robust framework for data integrity, quality and analysing data as professionally and effectively as possible.

    You will lead and manage a small team of Investment Planning Officers to develop the annual and 5-year regional investment plans, whilst developing TRGs 30-year investment programme. Continue to evolve, innovate and provide data analytical solutions to organisational projects. Collaborate with senior stakeholders within the organisation and to present solutions in a timely and understandable Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there will be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role.

    About you
    The successful candidate will have proven experience of handling large, complex data sets and identifying anomalies in data and proposing solutions. We are looking for someone who has excellent attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the housing sector, ideally working within an investment planning team, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Role Profile

  • Asset property data stewardship across a range of TRG systems
  • Responsibility for the Group's Asset Management System (AMS) property data and reporting. To review, assess and interrogate AMS data and reporting
  • Responsible for Decent Homes monitoring and reporting
  • Oversee the collection of comprehensive, accurate and up to date stock condition data from a range of sources, ensuring accurate data is recorded and effectively maintained using appropriate IT systems. Responsible for leading the Group's stock condition survey strategy, working with TRG surveying partners on creating survey programmes, ensuring data quality, validation and data loading is completed in a timely manner
  • Manage the analysis of stock condition data and the production of cyclical or ad hoc reports as required, for input into investment planning and other Asset Management decision making.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality in order to develop the Group's annual investment program and 5 year and 30-year business planning process.
  • Monitoring compliance data to ensure accuracy and consistency is maintained and non-compliance is dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Develop the Group's framework for asset data integrity and quality in relation to stock condition and investment planning - supporting data audits, identifying, and addressing data quality issues to ensure data integrity standards are identified, communicated, and adhered to effectively. Ensure non-compliance is reported with promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to continuously review and identify data weakness in relevant systems including mechanisms for improvement, ensuring data quality reporting continues to be integral to the reporting process within the wider team.
  • Develop the approach to asset data integrity and quality, ensuring the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures, and guidance, taking into account industry best practice, ensuring the adoption of new and innovative ideas and solutions to ensure continuous improvement of the service.
  • Manage asset data enquiries effectively, providing clear, supportive, and accurate advice or signposting as appropriate and escalating complaints and complex queries via the appropriate channels to ensure effective resolution.
  • To directly line manage the team of Regional Investment Planning Officers to interrogate stock condition data, to establish programmes of validation surveys to inform future programmes and develop the annual and 5-year investment plans, ensuring validation surveys and programme planning is implemented in a timely manner.
  • Lead, motivate and engage and ensure continuous development of your team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service, providing effective direction and ensuring quality service is provided
  • Provide ongoing training and support to the teams to enable them to fully utilise and self serve elements/ modules within the AMS
  • Conducting and managing the testing of upgrades, including the testing of any new modules to determine their impact on existing procedures, their operational functionality, and their readiness for use
  • Undertaking regular data validation and data cleansing exercises
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders including IT Services, AMS providers, internal stakeholders, and partner organisations, including providing advice and support.

  • Proven experience of handling large, complex data sets and identifying anomalies in data and proposing solutions.
  • Proven experience of managing and overseeing Asset Management Systems
  • Excellent and comprehensive understanding of the principles of data integrity and data quality.
  • Experience of successfully utilising data warehousing including data extraction.
  • Proven track record of using Project Management methodologies.
  • Experience of successfully leading, managing, and motivating teams, including managing team performance.
  • Experience in the housing sector, ideally working within an investment planning team.
  • Proven track record of the formulation and delivery of asset investment programmes for a large organisation with a diverse portfolio of mixed tenure properties within the housing sector.
  • Independent analytical skills and comprehensive experience of assessing stock condition, compliance, repairs, and Decent Homes data
  • Commercially aware with experience in 30 year business planning for a large housing provider
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Effective stakeholder management, both internally and external to the organisation, including the ability to successfully persuade and influence others.
