So what's the role all about?


As an Extra Care Scheme Officer at Chestnut House, you will be delivering housing management functions within an Extra Care Setting to ensure sustainability of residents tenancy's.


Working Hours:


Some of the key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Analyse problems, seek relevant information if necessary, balance issues and priorities and implement or recommend solutions or a course of action
  • Take ownership of customer problems and responds appropriately and promptly
  • Respects legitimacy of customer expectations at all times
  • Assist in managing the Scheme, ensuring a high standard of service is provided to PA Housing customers
  • Assist in supervising the cleaning and garden maintenance contracts (for communal areas only) and maintenance of the building
  • Participate in light cleaning of communal areas as necessary
  • Ensure action is taken including budgeting and debt counselling advice to prevent arrears
  • Ensure all Housing Benefit claims are established and evidenced from the start of the tenancy
  • Liaise with the Customer Contact Centre and contractors to monitor the progress and quality of repairs
  • Assist in collating information for use at management liaison group meetings and other external meetings
  • Provide verbal and written reports as requested

To be successful in this role, we'd be looking for the following

  • Experience in a customer services environment
  • Experience in a relevant Housing Sector area
  • Good knowledge of existing housing law and pending changes
  • Sound understanding of issues impacting on the social housing sector and tenants
  • Knowledge of Housing policy, procedures and good practice
  • Understanding of Equal opportunities and Diversity
  • Knowledge of Housing systems and databases
