    The Hollies is a specialist assessment and treatment ward for people with learning disabilities and difficulties with their mental health.

    We are looking to recruit someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, and at times, challenging environment. You must be able to work flexibly, creatively, and efficiently within the MDT and have excellent communication skills, supporting and motivating people with learning disabilities to engage in meaningful activity on the ward . This will be dependent on the changing needs of the patient group, and informed by close team working, handover meetings, and MDT meeting etc.

    You will be committed to working with the people who use our inpatient Mental Health Services and be enthusiastic about joining our skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The post holder will work intensively with people admitted to the ward and will be expected to develop and deliver both group and individual sessions which support recovery and promote well-being, under the guidance of a qualified member of staff.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful applicant will work as part of the multidisciplinary team but will be supernumerary to the nursing team on each shift in order to protect group and individual patient activity. You will plan and co-ordinate the ward activity programme, co-facilitating groups with nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and the Occupational Therapy team.
