    Job Description

    Job Requirements -

    · Support in delivery of ISO26262 process to vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers covering all aspects of the safety lifecycle.

    · Support GEN5m BMS product ISO26262 accreditation

    · Support to work package planning & management.

    · Support updates to function safety concepts, technical safety concepts, system design specifications, hardware and software requirements and test definition activities.

    · Manage/support verification reviews of safety work products (e.g. FMEDA, HW Metrics)

    · Apply safety analyses methods (e.g. FMEA, FTA, DFA) with broad exposure to different processes, methodologies and stakeholder objectives.

    · Supporting hazards identification, risk assessment and classification (for new product lines).

    · Supporting system and element level safety requirements capture, management and technical review.

    · Informing system level architectural design and technical reviews.

    · Support with a product integration and solutions into customer functional safety concepts, interfacing directly with a customer; representing their interests with the internal team of technical experts and designers.

    · Contributing to formal gap analyses between SEooC BMS and Customers' safety requirements).

    · Liaison with, including travel to other sites (in Central Europe), in order to co-ordinate closely with system design teams and component designers and to provide functional safety support.

    · Ensuring consistency between SW/HW Safety Requirements, Hardware-Software-Interface (HSI), SW/HW Architecture and Technical Safety Concept or System Architectural Design Specification.

    · Creation and updates to safety work products (documentation).

    · Supporting Safety case preparation (including safety arguments).

    · Manage time between multiple assigned tasks/work packages and be able to succinctly report progress in project meetings

    · Use of a document management system (e,g, SVN) for safety work product (documentation) .version control

    · Design shortfall resolution as part of a wider team.

    · Maintain internal company procedures in line with the latest best practices.

    · Work closely with the other teams on integration tasks.

    · Comply with all Health & Safety policies which are in place within the group inclusive of the Quality and Environmental Policy which is specific to ISO9001.

    · Have an awareness of and support reviews, documentation, and audits relating to ISO26262, ISO9001 & ISO14001.

    Essential Experience:

    · Demonstrable experience in an automotive or similar engineering environment, with a focus on delivery of safety system/component.

    · Experience in conducting safety analyses (FMEA, FTA, DFA), supporting requirements specification and/or verification

    · Confident at reading hardware component schematics and Simulink models, and understand component electrical interfaces

    · Experience in system (component) functional specification

    · Experience working with

    · Work package planning and delivery

    · Self-motivated and keen to be involved at all stages of development.

    Other beneficial attributes:

    · Working knowledge of automotive e-powertrain systems (e,g, batteries/energy storage; BMS) and understanding their interfaces and integration into the vehicle.

    · Working experience in the technical implementation of functional safety (according to ISO26262 or IEC61508)

    · Working knowledge of automotive HV standards; design methodologies and working practices.

    · Practical experience of using safety development tools (e.g. Ansys Medini, Isograph Reliability Workbench tool)

    · Strong communicator, capable of interacting with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.

    · Strong analytical skills – rigorous but pragmatic, being able to justify decisions with solid rationale.

    · Works well in a team environment, but also able to problem solve by themselves.

    · Remains focussed in a fast-paced environment, familiar with working outside their normal comfort zone.

    · Delivers designated tasks accurately and within timing and budget constraints.

    · Delivers high standard of technical writing (in English language).

    Education:

    · Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Science related discipline.

    Desirable Skills:

    · Automotive experience, including HV applications and ISO26262.

    · Awareness of ISO26262 / ISO9001 / ISO14001, internal IMS and Quality & Environmental / Health & Safety / Legal & Regulatory policies and processes.
