We are hiring a Site Manager for a well established Civil Engineering firm based in the East Midlands, however the sites are based in Holbeach.

The project is a new housing scheme of 55 timber frame units.

Duties of a Site Manaager

General

  • Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for the construction site, including subcontractors, health and safety of personnel, quality and workmanship of labour.
  • Responsible for the overall management and day to day running on site activity.
  • Designing the shortterm construction and scheduling programme to maximise efficiency and ensure completion is in accordance with the schedule.
  • Management responsibilities for all Health and Safety policies and procedure.
  • Management of sub contractors, managing our teams, dealing with any issues as and when required.
  • Delivery of projects on time and to a high specification.
  • Following support and guidance from other departments to ensure technical competency and consistency in providing feedback and information to all relevant departments.
  • Responsible for all document control as an integral part of the project control
  • Maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS), policies and procedures.

As a Site Manager, you need have:

  • Very strong negotiation skills
  • Desire to share and influence in the future growth and success of the business
  • Flexible approach to accommodate the demands of an expanding company

Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent telephone manner can communicate effectively, efficiently, and professionally to all customers
  • A logical thought process to resolve queries
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Ability to work on your own, demonstrating drive and initiative
  • Team player, willing to share ideas and techniques with other team colleagues to improve business
It would be beneficial to the Site Manager if you also had:

  • Experience in residential builds would be essential.
  • Current health and safety card (CSR|CSCS|Safepass or equivalent) to supervisor level and a First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Able to manage health and safety issues to Safe T-Cert or a similar audited scheme such as ISO 1800
  • Numeracy and IT skills including MS Office, Word and Excel.
  • Full driving licence.
