    The role:


    As a Design Engineer at HL Display UK in Harlow, you will be responsible for creating engineering manufacturing drawings for both in-house and external production, working within our small but busy team, and reporting to the UK Design Director.

    We are looking for someone with direct experience of our manufacturing processes, ideally within a related industry. We have in-house metal sheet and tube fabrication, injection moulding, vacuum forming, wood and plastic fabrication, and print. We also work with aluminium and plastic extrusion.

    Youll need an eye for detail, a good working knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes, excellent communication skills, and effective time management ability.

    Starting with a customer brief, youll use 3D CAD to develop solutions that meet customer needs, budget, and manufacturing possibilities.

    You work closely with the Account Managers, Design and Prototyping teams, Project Managers and Factory departments to win business and deliver products on time and on budget.

    Youll be fully supported by our highly experienced teams, and encouraged to learn and grow rapidly, taking ownership and seeing your work come to life in store.

    What will you be responsible for?Take approved visuals/concepts/written briefs and produce prototype and manufacturing drawings. Developing functional, aesthetically relevant, and manufacturable displays within budget and time constraints.
    Collaborate with the conceptual designers to faithfully realise the chosen design, and with Estimators to achieve budgetary constraints.
    Work closely with Prototype team to evaluate redesign prototypes, ensuring that the delivered production units perform satisfactorily.
    Liaise with Project Managers and Factory departments as needed to verify construction, specifications and quality.

    Ensure all project documentation adheres to company defined processes - detailed and accurate 2D Part and Assembly Drawings, Bills of Materials, QC guidelines, Technical Specification Sheets.

    Attend and contribute to all project milestone meetings for your designs.
    Communicate project status regularly and effectively with Line Manager.
