Description
The key responsibilities of a Payroll and Pension Manager will include, but may not be limited to;
- Produce accurate and timely payments, ensuring statutory requirements are met
- Providing advice relating to payroll, expenses and pensions
- Maintain the highest professional standards
- Daytoday operation management of activities relating to the payroll and expenses function
- Develop and actively manager productive professional relationships
- Identify improvements to systems and procedures and inform relevant people where appropriate
- Monitor and delegate work and line manage administrative staff in the Payroll & Expenses team
- Lead of managing the contract with the chosen payroll provider
- Develop payroll plans that fall outside the payroll contract
- Lead on payroll contract renegotiation
- Provide advice to senior management on all pension matters
- Reconcile balance sheet pay codes
- Present data in reports
Profile
The successful Payroll and Pension Manager must possess the following skill set and experience.
- Background working in Public Sector and Government
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of legislative requirements in payroll, pensions, and expenses
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Background of the NHS Electronic Staff Record system OR Oracle user desirable
- Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
- Background working in a busy and pressured environment
- Team management experience
- Coordinating and managing multiple projects
- Ability to develop and implement office processes and procedures
