    Description

    The Duties and responsibilities involved in this role include:

  • To promote and to work safely at all times and to the highest standards.
  • Mechanical repairs and PPM's to high volume production machinery.
  • Fault finding on various types of machinery (Plastic Moulding Machines, Grinders, Assembly Machines, Heat Treatment Furnaces).
  • Basic electrical fault finding on production machinery.
  • Installation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment.
  • Fabrication and sheet metal work.
  • Welding and brazing.
  • Working on hydraulic systems from schematic drawings.
  • Working on pneumatic system from schematic drawings.
  • To Actively play an active part in continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain production equipment to the required company standard.
  • Uses precision tools and instruments; including micrometers, verniers, slip gauges and small hand tools.
  • Comply with all factory health and safety regulations.
  • To have the ability to read and work from detailed machine drawings.
  • Skills Required:

  • Ensure effective communications of necessary information within organisation, and ensuring positive involvement and participation in factory operations and activities.
  • Promote and maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
  • Must be a team player as well as having the ability to work on own intiative.
  • Must be self-motivated by the challenging times ahead.
  • Good hand to eye co-ordination to manufacture parts and Repair Machinery to the required standard.
  • Must be well organised and have good attention to detail.
  • Set standard behaviour expected by the team.
  • Must be able to follow instructions with a methodical approach.
  • Must always look for ways for improving processes.
  • Must have the ability to stay calm and think logically.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems in a timely response.
  • Ensure at all times one's self is compliant with the company requirements on PPE and reporting non-conformances to a member of the management team.
  • Have a basic knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
  • Qualifications Required:

  • A Practical Engineering Qualification to NVQ Level 3 Standard.
  • 5 years on the job experience
