    Job Description

    To support the site improving its HSE performance and managing its HSE risk as low as is reasonably practicable or lower in line with company requirements. To maintain compliance with the Company's systems in relation to the requirements of HS&E (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, Quality (ISO 9001) through the regular monitoring, auditing and reporting of performance, and assisting in the development of Project-specific plans, processes and procedures necessary to ensure compliance and provide for improvement in the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Welding Engineering performance.. To ensure that all standards are established and communicated to allow Project activities to be carried out in compliance with relevant standards and procedures, and satisfy customer requirements. To oversee HSE resources on Projects, to ensure an effective, efficient and professional approach is taken to all relevant matters.

    The Role

    • Provide subject-matter expertise to support the site General Manager and their leadership team improving HSE performance and managing the HSE risk they are accountable for.
    • To maintain compliance with and develop the Company's systems in relation to the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 and to ensure that these meet business needs and legal requirements.
    • Ensure that the Company meets all statutory requirements in relation to Health, Safety and the Environment.
    • Ensure that the HSE staff operate in compliance with the Company's systems, and enforce compliance by them and all personnel in a systematic and consistent way.
    • Assist functional and site leadership in the development of HSE Policies and Objectives, and other system elements.
    • Liaise and interface with the Client, suppliers and other third parties in relation to systems operations, including hosting audits and assessments.
    • To ensure internal departments and suppliers are regularly audited in compliance with the requirements of the standards and the Company's systems.
    • Develop processes and procedures that ensure the site meets the requirements of the relevant Management System, standards and Specifications, and enable staff to carry out their roles and responsibilities effectively.
    • Monitor the Company's performance in the relevant areas, measure this against benchmarks and develop and present regular reports and analyses that will provide a basis for identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
    • Manage and develop resources to ensure the provision of an effective service at all times to all areas of the Company.
    • Ensure that the site and project teams are kept fully aware of all developments relating to any changes in Standards, legislation and other requirements.
    • To ensure that all relevant HSE documentation is completed and submitted.
    • Liaise with Human Resource Department in relation to Inductions and HS&E training, Health Surveillance, Accident Administration and Social Welfare Arrangements for employees.
    • Develop a plan in conjunction with Senior Management to provide a fully integrated HSEQ Management System.
    • Liaise with Finance Department in respect of EL & PL Insurance.
    Qualifications
    • Professional qualification – Level 5 or above HSE qualification that meets the criteria for Certified Member of IOSH or willing to achieve within 18 months of appointment.
    • Environmental management qualification to achieve Associate Member of IEMA or experience (desirable)
    • Formal management qualification at Level 3 or higher with supporting experience (desirable)
    • Extensive understanding of all appropriate ISO standards. Internal audit experience (essential) and Lead Auditor qualification and/or experience (Desirable).
    • High level communication skills (written and oral) and computer literacy.
    • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (including presentation skills).
    • Capable of working with processes & procedures
    • Supervise and guide HSE advisors and guide all on-site staff and partners to make the best decisions to improve HSE performance and best manage HSE risk.
    • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output for you and customers.
    • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analysing quality data and report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action.
    • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
