    Vacancy: Chemical Products Technical Manager

    Location: Royston

    As the Chemical Products Technical Manager you will takes direct responsibility for initiating and delivering complex research projects, leading new product introduction, and supporting production activities aligned with the Platinum Group Metals Services strategy. Manage technology activities, ensure compliance with EHS policies, and promote process safety. Additionally, lead team development, improvement programs, and strategic projects, while collaborating with commercial and operations teams.

    Your responsibilities:
    • Ensure compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety policies and regulations, leading process safety assessments, and promoting lifesaving policies.
    • Lead team development for high performance, innovation, and collaboration in delivering new processes and high-quality technical work.
    • Manage OPEX budget, recommend capital projects, and contribute to global PGMS R&D strategy aligned with PGMS strategy.
    • Support Operations for safe and efficient process running, providing technical expertise and identifying improvement opportunities.
    • Deliver strategic projects aligned with PGMS strategy, reporting progress to senior management and contributing to the Technology Roadmap.
    • Develop expertise in PGM Chemicals processes, act as a technical subject matter expert, and assess manufacturing capabilities for improvement opportunities.
    Requirements for the role:
    • Proven leadership and decision-making skills to build and lead an innovative technical team, with a commitment to EH&S and process safety.
    • First degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy, preferably with a postgraduate research degree.
    • Demonstrable experience in technology management and introducing new processes in process industries.
    • Capability of developing program strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Strong communication skills, proposing innovative solutions, and building collaborative relationships.
    • Ability to adapt to business needs, achieve results within tight deadlines, and provide training and coaching to others.
    Special factors:
    • Travel - The role will be Royston based, with occasional travel to other UK and US JM sites, if required.
    • Work environment - The role will be mainly office-based, with visits to laboratory, pilot plant and plant facilities required.
